I’m looking forward to beta testing and meeting other live users here.
I am posting in regard to how I use Live to bring instruments into my sets. I’m not sure if this will be relevant to this beta test feed or not.
I’ve been using Ableton Live for about 3 years I would guesstimate. No formal training, just mostly poking and YouTube videos.
One of my biggest fears was not knowing how to organize hundreds of instruments from various VSTs like Kontakt, Ujam, Omnisphere, etc in a way that I could quickly draw my favorite instruments from. I recently discovered that I could create sets and pull instruments from them and they come in quickly. The clips from the set may come in too or I can just pull the instruments…it depends on what you drag and drop and where you place it.
If I state this as a question I would ask " Am I a newbie and everyone does this?..duh…maybe I’m just a slow learner?"
If I state this as an informative comment I would wonder if it will have any effect on the multi session software we will be testing? Will is cause greater cpu useage? Speed things up? Slow things down? Make any difference at all?
To try to simplify what I am talking about I’m attaching jpeg that shows how I pull in instruments from my pre-created set lists.
